Last year Duxbury left Division II to move up to Division I leaving a guaranteeing a different team with the trophy. Although Tewksbury/Methuen is relatively new to the program, they came into the Division II tournament seeded number one. Coming in number two was Wellesley. Falmouth, who had faced Duxbury in the last two state finals, came in at number three. In a 3-2 victory against No. 3 Falmouth in the semifinals, No. 2 Wellesley would see themselves in the finals at the TD Garden. With a 4-3 victory against Sandwich, No. 4 Westwood would go head to head with Wellesley in the Division II state finals. In the end, Westwood defeated Wellesley 6-2.
