Last year in Division I, Acton-Boxboro was able to secure the top seed coming into the tournament with a pair of wins at the end of the season. Beverly/Danvers locked in the number two spot even after strengthening their nonleague schedule. Arlington Catholic came into the tournament at number three in hopes of a trip to the TD Garden. Although No. 5 Duxbury was new to the division, they defeated the No. 1 seeded Acton-Boxboro 3-0 in the semi-finals allowing them to appear at the TD Garden for the fourth consecutive year. No. 3 Arlington Catholic defeated Austin Prep in a 2-1 victory in the semi-finals bringing them head to head with the Dragons in the finals. In a well fought out game, Duxbury defeated Arlington Catholic 2-1 leading them to their first state championship in Division I.
