A pair of former Massachusetts high schoolers will be among participants in tonight's CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.
The game, which airs on NHL Network at 7 p.m., takes place at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, N.Y. and will feature 42 prospects who are eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft.
Luke McInnis and Matt Filipe are the lone Bay State players making the trip.
McInnis played at Hingham High School for two seasons (2012-14) before transferring to the Dexter School in Brookline. The left-shot defenceman had 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points last year for Dexter. The Boston College-commit, who will play this upcoming season for the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms in the USHL, is the son of former NHL player Marty McInnis.
Filipe, a Lynnfield native, played three seasons at Malden Catholic (2012-15), playing in the final three of the Lancers' five consecutive Super Eight final appearances, winning the first two. A left-shot center/left winger, Filipe had 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points last season for MC. He's committed to Northeastern University, and will play this coming season for the Cedar Rapids (Iowa) RoughRiders, also of the USHL.
Derek Plante and Boston's own Jeremy Roenick will serve as the coaches for tonight's game.
