The 10th annual Garrett Reagan Summit has hit the 70-team mark.
The Norwood Mustangs and Lexington Minutemen have been added to the field, bringing the total to 70 for the first time in the jamboree's history.
Norwood and Lexington will play on Rink 1 at 2 p.m., thus becoming a part of the free slate of games to be broadcast on MyHockeyLive.com on Sunday, Dec. 3. In all, five games will be broadcast for free. The Mustangs went 8-10-2 last season in Chuck Allen's first year behind the bench, just a year after going 0-19-1. The Minutemen finished 6-13-2 in 2016-17.
Per Jim Clark of the Boston Herald, 14 teams have participated in the Summit for a full decade now. This includes Hingham, where Reagan coached for 26 years and won three state titles before retiring after the 2007-2008 season. Reagan passed away in June of that year.
Other teams to participate in the Summit throughout its entirety include Braintree, Burlington, Duxbury, Malden Catholic, Marlboro, Marshfield, Newton North, Newton South, Springfield Cathedral/Pope Francis, Reading, Waltham's boys and girls teams, and Xaverian.
