MIAA Massachusetts High School Hockey

The Annual Shamrock Showdown Hockey Tournament - 2025

Dear loyal supporters,

The Annual Shamrock showdown hockey Tournament supports the Timothy “Doc” Cook Foundation, Inc. The event will take place on March 14 and 15th 2025. This year’s Tournament will be a Battle between both Boston Fire Department, New York Police Department, Boston Police Department and friends of Doc at the Murphy Rink in South Boston. The first puck drop will be Boston Fire Department vs New York Police Department. The format will be Beanpot Style, with the winners facing off against each other and the runner ups facing each other in a consolation game. This year we will be doing a special recognition Tim Murphy on his recent promotion to colonel in the US Army.

The scholarship is focused on raising funds for local students from Boston neighborhoods to assist with their high school tuition. It is only fitting that the Scholarship Fund is hosting both city’s first responders. Many of the players are veterans themselves and are looking forward to joining in our efforts to bring more awareness to the ongoing struggle of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) with our returning veterans.

To date we have awarded over $130,000 in scholarships to deserving students in Boston and surrounding areas. It is crucial to teach our youth in the community to end the stigma against silent wounds that travel with veterans.

You are receiving this letter because we hope you feel, as we do, that this is a very worthy cause and would like to participate. We are looking for Business groups to offer assistance with gift certificates or raffle prizes. In addition, we are seeking corporate sponsors.
